I've noticed with the new VP (SO), if I start the engine and don't allow oil to reach full psi before I put it in drive it lopes, if I go back to neutral and allow the oil to go full psi it smoothes right out when I go into drive?

I recall this happening maybe once or twice with the original VP. Is this normal? I'm thinking there's something to do with the oil not at full psi that causes it to lope.

BTW lope = sounds like an HRVP with big tubes in an auto, "rump, rump, rump" . . .

Thanks

I don't chance it and put it right into "N" as soon as this happens. Understand, this only happens upon start up and then a quick pop into "D". If I start up and wait till oil pressure comes up (5 - 8 seconds) and then go to "D" all is fine.

I'm just wondering how oil pressure relates to the VP?
