LG front loader. Very robust with fewer moving parts than others because of direct drive.

We ordered the lower end LG's. Home Depot said they'd be here by last Friday, but the washer got back ordered. They were going to split the delivery and at least get us the dryer but it would have ended up taking longer! They gave a me a loaner dryer to use until the new ones get here. Can't beat that!

Anyone have any recommendations for a new washer and dryer.

These are the "Best" front load Washers and Dryers on the market. I did get a real life education from all the different manufacturers touting all their features, bla, bla, bla. This opinion comes from being on the inside, observing what manufacturers had problems with, and along with what customers had to say after the purchase.



I own maytag front loaders now and purchased them before I got a real education. Whirlpool front loaders are what I buy in the future.

I started this thread and check back every now and then to see what others have to say. We finally ended up with a LG front loader washer and dryer. So far so good. Like everything else-----time will tell. Thanks for everyone's input.

Good choice. At home I have the Whirlpool Duet but at work, where heavy-duty use was required, I selected the largest LG available. We wash suicide-proof blankets that our "clients" are provided with during their stay. The LG was recommended to me by the salesman upon that usage.

We bought Bosch from Lowes, 3 years ago (white, front loaders). Both are "made in usa", extremely quiet, and the spin cycle on the washer is extremely fast. Your laundry comes out almost dry. Then you have a short dryer cycle. Very efficient. The key to any modern washer and dryer is to set them level- side to side and front to back. They'll be much quieter. Set the legs so there is no wobble- have to be rock solid.
