There are aftermarket 8-bolt wheels in different sizes available from different sources, but none have the correct offset, so your wheels will hang outside the fender wells thereby necessitating flares (and may spank the front end as well). T-Rex Suspensions is offering a Weld Racing wheel with the correct specs. , but they are on off-road specialist company, so the wheels are 18" as a compromise for use with off-road tires (there are no A/S tires available to fit this wheel size). If you're into the monster mudder look, and don't care about road noise and reduced fuel economy, check them out. They were having trouble with initial availability, and I'm not sure if you need to lift the thing to use their wheel/tire combo and you will definitely have to recalibrate the speedo (final drive ratio becomes taller). Other TDR members have fit Hummer H-2 wheels with 315's, but I think the wheel hub center is a little small (needs to be opened up) and don't know if they hang out the fenders. Do a search on this site for more info.



I hated the stock alloys on my Laramie, so I went with the SLT chrome steel jobs. At least they fit and there are A/S (highway) tires available (although not a lot of choices are available in the stock LT26570R17 size). Mopar needs to offer some wheel choices for the 8-bolt crowd like they do for the 1/2 ton guys. I'd like a set of chrome factory alloys that look good myself.



BTW, You could wait for the new OEM Dodge '05 Power Wagon wheels, but they're also 18" with huge off-road style tires as well.

What was it about the alloys you hated. I have the chrome steels on my truck an was wanting to get a set of the alloys in the future. Looks, workmanship, or what!

Save your money, They look like s**t. Dark shiny paint, chrome trim, bumpers, grille, BSM and then they give you flat silver wheel centers and plain flat silver aluminum wheels with the $5k+ Laramie package. The chrome SLT wheels are heavier steel, but they look a hell of a lot better than the alloys, and they don't bend easily and don't cost a fortune to replace. I got mine from a gentleman in Ca for $100 for the set, incl. lugs and wheels centers in mint condition. I'd like to see the factory offer the stock alloys in a chrome and/or highly polished version.



I'm gonna use the ugly alloys with the stock Michelin LTX A/S's for my winter wheels (until they wear out, then I'll mount BFG A/T TA KO's).



Tire choices in the stock sizes are almost non-existent as the Dodge is the only HD using 17"s at the moment. I hope that changes for the better. I couldn't get my favorite Michelin LTX M/S's in load range "E", nor can you get Michelin LTX A/T's in load range "E" for winter duty. Ford, the biggest selling HD truck, is going to 18"s so that blows it for us Cummins guys unless DC is going to 18"s as well.

Walker Evans makes a new 17 inch wheel as well as Robby Gordon Off-Road. Alcoa offers a 17x8 in classic round hole style.
