new wheels won't fit rear HELP

I just got my new Mickey Thompson Classic2's 16x8 and did a trial fit before installing tires and a good thing I did, they appeared to be fine on the front but on the rears they hit the back of the brake drum outer ring sort of like the stock 2001 aluminum wheels on the older trucks, these were supposed to be the right wheel for the truck. What have others used or done to change the wheels?According to the M/T rep they may not fit the dana 80's. Any help will be appreciated as I'm sure others have been down this road. Ramman ps the wheels had a 4 7/8back spacing.

help

Any one else switched wheels on a 2500 5 speed? Was there any clearence on the rear drums to the wheels, need some input on what to do.

. Ramman,

I've switched to aluminum wheels on four trucks, three second generation and one first generation, without any clearance problems. I've used Aloca, Progressive and maybe Centerline?? Wish I could help on the Mickey Thompson but never tried them.

How wide are the wheels? Your back spacing should

tuck the tire in the wheelwells nicely.

Glad to hear that your truck is back on the road. How is the power? I have ceramic piston envy;)

My home computer died or I would have emailed this, Your Missouri friend :).

I tried to put factory wheels off of a 2000 and the same thing happend to me!:( They were 8inches wide and hung up on the brake drums. )The 2000+ have a smooth rear drum my99 doesn't.

Anyone-else have a solution to factory bent chrome steel wheels we were given?
