Looking for a dodge or cummins dealer in the lower new york metro area who is familiar with the cummins dodge trucks. every dealer i have gone to seem to have no experience with our trucks. Any help or recomendations would be helpful. can i take it to a cummins engine delaer or does it have to be dodge?

Cummins Metropower will not under any circumstances do any sort of warranty work on a dodge engine.

After warranty, they'll happily take your money. BTW Cummins is NOT cheap, think $125/hr standard labor rate.

I've so far had good luck with Bayside C,J&D. I had my injection pump changed there, no questions asked about my SBC dual disc clutch, aFe intake or muffler delete. And for the record, no questions asked about my ecm. I just put the stock software back on my Smarty, and took it in.

Oh, also, I forgot to mention, don't bother with Cummins Metropower for any of the high performance Stratapore filters for either oil or fuel. They do not stock them, and if you want them, you have to order a case of them at minimum.

Otherwise, Sibby (daytimes) or Henry (evenings) are great parts guys. Also nice is the fact that parts is open till 11pm on weekdays.

I know you said lower NY Metro area, but are you on the move? If so, what direction? If you're headed to CT I can help you find some expert help if it's something other than warranty. Unfortunately, my Dodge dealer just sold their franchise to someone else, so I can't tell you if the new place is any good for warranty.

As a fellow westchester boy. I was never really happy with any local dealers and I went to three of them. Luckily it was only for recall notices

I know you said NY area and I consider NJ in it. I dealt with Fullerton Dodge in Somerville NJ for warranty because they have a good cummins tech. He changed my CP3 and did a good job. A friend of mine ordered his CTD there and that was just an OK experience.

Here's the thread from when I bought my truck, check it out.

The bottom line was and still is that our trucks are misunderstood and not taken seriously around these parts. If you want good results around here, you'll have to get a denali or a power stroke.

thanks for the info, it is about an hour and a half from me. don't mind the ride, but if i had to leave it. it would be a pain. . thanks again
