New York liberals are at it again!

The proposed statue depicting three NY firemen raising a flag at ground zero was declared not politically correct. Two of the white men in the photo that was to be used as a guide for statue construction have to be replaced by a black and an hispanic even though those two ethnic groups only comprise about 2-3% of the NYFD each. IMHO, if you can't accuratly depict the real thing, then don't do it at all. This PC mentality really burns my butt.

If they wanted to depict the FDNY then why isn't one of them a woman? There are probably as many women members as there other minorities. IMO they should leave well enough alone.

Yes, they do have women firefighters, but none of them died on 9/11. All of the 343 were men. They want the statue to represent the firefighters who died that day. I like danandme's idea on the other thread - make a statue of the firefighters going up the stairways. That one could represent all of the races who died while still leaving the flag raising one alone. It's a darn shame that everything has to end up being a political thing.
