Here goes
I am a new owner of a used 1998 Dodge 2500 QC long bed 12V with auto transmission. I've installed a TST#8 plate, EGT, Boost, and transmission temp guage. Purchased from info gathered here. I had a 1995 Dodge reg cab short bed with a 360 auto and just purchased a 25 ft Sportster 5vr that hauls my Harley and wife wherever we want to go. After purchasing the 5vr I and reading the forums I figured I needed something better to haul with. Now that that is out of the way I have a problem. I read everywhere that I have a 3 speed w OD transmission. The problem is I don't have an overdrive button. There is a shift knob on the shifter with a screw off cap that when you take it apart there are plastic gears inside but no electrical connection of any kind. The base is pressed on so I haven't taken it off. 2 wires go into the shift lever at the column but until I take off the pressed-on plastic piece I don't know if they are there. Does anyone know what I have? Some after market gizmo or what.
