Hello,

I went to look under the dash per the owners manual that says the wiring should be to the left of the brake pedal.

the only thing i found was a connector that had two wires in it. a red wire and a red wire with a yellow stripe.

where is the blue/white/black/ etc wires?

I ordered my truck with the trailer tow package..... just not sure where hte wires are in the cab? I checked the engine compartment firewall but did not see much there either?

Please clue me in... ... . thanks in advance

It's a blue plug that is tied up near the left firewall behind the whitebox under the dash. Get a flashlight and get your head under the dash looking up to see it. The best way to find the location is if you got your head down by the drivers seat and were looking at your brake release lever real close... there is a gap right above the release lever that you can see through... . the blue plug is straight back from that, and you probably can see it through that gap. You should have the male portion that hooks up to the controller loose somewhere... mine was under the rear seat on the passenger side.

Also try the glovebox for the pigtail. Like he said blue plug above the e-brake pedal and a real PITA to get to IIRC.

If you have a 6-speed, the plug in end is right above the clutch.

My pigtail wiring harness thingy was in that counsel that's under the middle seat (in the front).

I just installed my brake controller last night... worked perfect, and easy to hook up (compared to running wires back to the bumper).

Your pigtail "Should" be in your truck somewhere, UNLESS you have a dealer like the one I bought my '03 1500 hemi from. That dealership routinely removes the pigtails from all trucks that come in with tow package. Then they sell 'em back to you in the Parts department for $20! I had to walk out on the hemi deal to get mine. I knew they came with the truck. Turns out I should have walked out on the hemi deal anyway!! Just hated the truck. Kept it nine months & went back to diesel.

Buy the matching pigtail for your brake controller from camping World or whom ever . . Like the others I found truck plug in end above parking brake . It was tiewrapped there . I cut tie wrap and removed it from bracket to make plug in easier
