Alrighty, well, I've wanted this rig for a really long time and I finally got to ordering a truck. Truck is a brand new 05 3500 4x4 Quad cab shortbox SRW 6 speed Laramie, etc. Ordered it from Tom Chaney of Lou Fusz Dodge on this very board... ...

Anyway, questions:

I want to straight pipe my new 05 as soon as I get it. Has any one had any problems removing the muffler and cat? Is all I need straight sections of 4" pipe to do so? Can anyone tell me the lengths so I can have them ready to go before I even pick up my truck (hell, before it's even built).

Where is the best place to get the Pullrite auto sliding 5er hitch? My mom has a 32' Dutchman I'm going to be pulling, and I'd like to know where to look for one and any special information to go along with it. I've been reading here and everyone's saying that is the way to go. If so, where do I get it?

Do any of you guys have the Tekonsha Prodigy? I have one from my old tow rig and I'm pretty sure but I just wanted to double check... it's plug and play, correct? They make a harness that plugs right in, right?

Anyone want to buy a Reese 16k, used once?

I'm sure I'll have more questions but I'll just leave it at that for now. I've been reading all day but I just can't seem to get the information I'm looking for.

Sorry for being a jackass newbie here. Look for the truck that I will be pulling with my Dodge in Fourwheeler Magazine in February for Real Truck Challenge. I'm not new to trucks, just new to Dodge and new to Diesels, although I've wanted a Diesel forever.....

Let me say first, Welcome to the TDR and I know you'll love your new truck   As for the Prodigy brake controller, I have one and it is plug and play as long as you buy the dodge wiring harness (worth the 10 bucks). Can't tow without that brake controller, its great I just got and I have been using the traditional adjustable ones :{ :{ I took my muffler off and just had a piece of 4inch pipe welded in at my local muffler sfop for 45 bucks. They didn't want to remove my cat because of local emissions and stuff but I think you can do that with your cat too. As for the other questions you have I'm sure someone will chime in, the TDR has knowledge base that is unheard of, corey

Welcome! Don't be afraid to ask questions around here. No question is to small. As far as the exhaust goes..... If you haven't already recieved your first issue of the TDR mag, I'd hold off a bit. I think Geno's Garage sells a muffler elimination kit.

Watch out for the Bombing bug..... I think it has bitten everyone I know around here and there is no known cure!

I actually have my own 4wd business (this is NOT a parts pimping post) so I'm already a dealer for Bully Dog, Edge, Banks, etc.

If this muffler is a straight section I'm going to go to my semi shop and get a piece of 4" pipe that is already bumped on both ends and clamp it in place. :)

From what I understand the stock exhaust is 4" stainless, so if I did get a muffler elimination kit I'd prefer it be similar to the stock stuff.

Nooooooo BOMBing for me, at least until the truck is paid for. :D

I didn't even realize that dc put catalytic converters back on our trucks (that sucks).

Welcome to the TDR Tim!

Yeah, right :-laf

It's a miracle I can even afford the damn thing..... trust me, no BOMBs. Maybe a KORE kit and some wheels, no engine mods, I've got to finish off the warranty first. :D

Welcome Tim!

The stock exhaust is not stainless.

Off topic, but I would like your opinion. 1970-1976 Bronco or same years IH Scout?

I personally like the Bronco. Internationals are ugly... . cool in their own way because they're ugly, but I really like the early Broncos despite not being a Ford fan.

Becareful With The Straight Pipe. I Know One Of Our Dealers Around Here Like To Stick It To You With The Warranty On That One, Because You Modified From "stock". So You Might Wanna Keep It Around Just In Case.
