I just got a new '05 (800 miles) 3500 srw quad cab . Its a 600, the cummins site says the motors for the '05's are the 610. How do i get mine up to 610/ shouldn't the dealer do it. Id there a sticker on the motor saying exactly what it is. I called cummins and the tech said he doesn't know the difference or if the sticker is wrong. My truck was produced in 8/04.

Also I get 15. 9 mpg on the overhead console at 65mph. no load empty bed. Is this good for a new motor/

i don't think there is any difference, just a numbers game.

It's mainly a marketing ploy by DC to enable them to state they have the highest torque, 5 ft-lb more than Chevy.



I believe it was stated here by someone from DC that the extra 10 lb-ft is only available with both the a/c and fan clutch on.



So, basically, you'll never notice the difference.



Hopefully it won't be too long before you add a Quadzilla Xzillaraider, Edge EZ, TS Ramifier, TST PMCR, Bully Dog Downloader, or other grin-inducing electronics. Then it won't really matter, even if you had a CA SO!

Besides 10lb of torque isn't worth two farts and a burb!!! Add even a mild box and you'll get 200 lbs of torque oh yeah did I say

Just add 15Psi to each tire;-)
