Truck is down while radiator is getting re-cored. Took saggy, buggin'-me headliner out this morning and got some Permatex spray headliner glue, and voilá. Only about one hour to remove headliner, peel back fabric, glue, and re-install. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Usually the headliner sags because the foam backing has deteriorated so re-gluing the old fabric (with the old crusty foam) usually fails again... soon. But you might not have any problems. The trick is to get new fabric and make sure you get all the old foam crud off of the h-liner board before gluing.

Yeah, I brushed off a bunch of the old, dry-rotted foam. If'n it fails again, I'll get something snazzy to put in--something without so many commas :-laf

Well,,,,,,your only mistake was the reinstall of said liner.

I think what he means is what I discovered when I pulled my 93's. "I kinda like that retro throw back real truck look". :-laf So out it stays!

I'll admit it was tempting to leave it out as the roof was immaculate compared to the headliner. But, who's looking up at the cab roof anyway unless it's sagging on their head!

When I mention that it's best to tear the liner out I recieve hate mail:

"It'll be too noisy"

"Its easier to repair it" :(

"It looks better"

"My girlfreind likes it" :--)

I recently discovered that DODGE made a version of the pick-up WITH OUT A HEAD LINER!! (they could have held mine at the assembly line... "give me the special sauce/lettuce/cheese, but hold the head liner" )

Mine are taking up space @ the local land fill and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

GL, you forgot, "It's insulation and keeps the heat in when it's cold"

Who drives their truck when its cold out? I consider mine the diesel of street rods! :D
