Just installed a Jacobs Exhaust Brake today!!! Can't say enough thanks to Larry Willard and Tom Sweeney for making the trip to the house and helping with the installation.

The installation went smooth and without any major glitches, exept for removing the cigarette lighter to tap the power. For fear of breaking something and trying to beat sundown, we used a temporary adapter to get power from the lighter.

It works great!!!

Thanks again to Lary and Tom.

When I installed mine, I didn't want to tap into the lighter to power the lamp, so I just spliced two of the wires at the switch to power the light from pin 20 of the ECM. I think I actually prefer this method as the light only comes on when the brake is in use. It makes for a cleaner installation too. :)

I didn't use the factory switch with mine, didn't like the idea of crouching down everytime I wanted to switch it off/on. Instead I installed a push/pull switch on the shift lever "big rig style". It works alot better because control is at my fingertips.

A month ago I was traveling down I-5 with my windows down, and a trucker in the next lane spotted the red switch mounted on my shift lever and yelled on the CB "whats that do?". I pulled the switch and the ebrake went Brrrrrrrrrrrrr... . It made him put on a cheasy grin. :D
