Well it is a sad day at the ranch,

While driving home from Minneapolis my turbo suddenly decided to leave this earth, it will be greatly missed. It was preceded in death by 2 transmissions and one Dana 71, both of which replaced with transplants in hope of a longer life but in the end I think it is time to let her go to the big truck stop in the sky.

This was my first Diesel and will definately not be my last although she will be replaced by a GMC Serria 1500 4x4 for a couple years until funds are available to once again enjoy the thrust of a finely tuned Cummins :D . I used to think that Diesels were slow, loud, and stinky but I have found that not to be true, especially the slow part.

If anyone needs a parts truck I put a add in the classifieds in the hopes that someone will want whats left of her so that others do not have to share the same fate.

I give a big salute to all of my fellow TDR'ERs for all of thier support not only to myself but to all of those in need that found what they were looking for at this site. I will continue to be a member and remember the good times I had with Old Gray and to look forward the times ahead with a new truck down the road.

Enjoy what you have while you have it,

Because you never know when its time will come.

Best regards

Kurt (Smokin 90) :{ :{

Sorry to hear about the untimely death of a good truck. :{

Going back to a chevy gasser. You will be depressed. I know I would be. I drove them for many years before I could afford the one I have now. :{

Sad news...

A sad day at the ranch, for sure... and only with 300K, were these hard working miles? You are doing the right thing by offering up donor parts for transplant, your truck will continue to bring miles of smiles to other CTD owners. Maybe you'll make enough cash from parts, sell the GMC and get yourself another CTD:D

Keep the faith, Patrick.

Hey Kurt,

Sorry to here about the truck.

I am interested in the front axle. If you are interested in parting the truck out please pm me.

Thanks,

Doug

Thanks to all of you who share my pain and send your condoleances for the passing of a fine truck that was happiest when it was working hard or teaching the blue oval and bow tie guys a lesson in torque management:D . It will be greatly missed and remembered every day.

Thanks again,

Kurt.

P. S. Hello Pastor Bob, Do you think you could give the last rights to a fallen member of your congregation? I would be very thankful.

:) :D :cool: :p :D

Hold on to those last rites Bob she aint dead yet. I just couldn't go to a gasser for a TRUCK and have decided to preform all life saving operations nessary to let the old girl breathe again:D .

I could not go back to a 1/2 ton truck as I don't want half a truck. I want something that can pull whatever it's hooked to, pull past whatever is along side it, and pull home whatever OTHER truck is stuck along side the road ( as its not going to be me again:cool: ). I also just couldn't stand by the wayside and let all of you guys have all the fun bombing your trucks and not have any fun with mine.

Thanks everyone and God bless the TDR,

Kurt.

Kurt, I was getting very depressed reading your post about retiring your CTD and felt equally relieved to see you changed your mind. I can appreciate the pain you would have felt going back to a "half truck".

Good luck!:)

Thanks Bflood,

Iam glad that I decided to keep the truck alive, but the down time is killing me. It's going to take me a couple of weeks to get the $$$ together to replace the turbo with a HX35 ( Thanks Joe ) but I am sure it is nothing compared to what it would be like if I did not have it at all.

I want to thank all of the TDR'ers that have giving me their support and best wishes during this ordeal and I probably would not have kept the truck if it were not for all of you. THANKS:D. I can't wait to get it going again and let the bombs fly once again ( Intercooler, Exhaust, etc, it never stops).

Best Regards,

Kurt.

Forgive me pastor Bob, for I have sinned. I used to drive a Chevy, and a Ford!

But I have changed my ways, I swear!

Am I forgiven?
