Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting lookin for a lower

Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting You wanna keep em?

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victums and their families of the Newtown, Connecticut massacre. The senseless killing of 20 children plus six adults is too much to bear. I believe we need to put God back in our schools and cities. There are just too many of these tragedies happening in our country in the last few years.

God Bless the victums and families and May God Bless everyone.

It is not just the last few years, the computer world has just made it more widely known. Crazy people can't be deterred any more than religious fanatics who kill in the name of religion. It has been going on in third world countries for ever, not to mention our own borders. There are no easy answers nor solutions to the problem.

I don't know how to put the words together to correctly explain how I feel. God bless those little ones and their families. For those of use who's faith allows us to believe in the promise of Christ, we can be assured that they are now held in his care.

I was sick in my stomach when I heard the early reports and then seeing the updates, hard to put into words.

Newtown, please accept my sympathy for this tragic loss.

I believe that since the 1999 Columbine massacres, these horrible tragedies are happening more often.

I believe we all should go to church more often and take our kids with us. We need help and blessing from our God.

Too bad the elected officials are looking at gun control to protect citizens and elimintate such evil. More laws will not stop evil. Officials know this, but they don't have a care for protecting citizens. They only have a desire to press their own agenda upon citizens.

Taking guns from citizens is only taking guns from law abiding citizens.

Why didn't the evil guy read the sign on the school, clearly stating that a citizen cannot carry a weapon onto school grounds; thus turn and leave???

Evil subjects such as this scum bag LOOK for places that law abiding citizens cannot carry weapons. Duh.

I feel for the Parents of the children that were killed, they were to young to die that way. :(

This guy was either crazy (mental) or he was a coward!

And we do need God back in this country to many people call them selve religious but don't participate in their religion.

We do need to keep guns away from mentally disturbed people even if it means tougher gun control. Another thing we need to control are all these violent videos. Adam Lanza watched many violent videos, it was learned. To him, shooting at kids was like scoring points. We also need to keep an eye on anyone who looks and acts weird like Lanza did.

These massacres are happening too often and we must do whatever it takes to put an end to it.

We can put all the different labels on this that ANYONE NEEDS but IMO and its not much of an Opinion I will agree,is that the young people of today and I hear that the shooter was in his 20's that's young enough. Have done nothing but play those stupid killing games on X box and play station or what ever BOX so long that they think that is the way to solve EVERY PROBLEM. When most of us were young we didn't have games like that and had to do something TOTALLY DIFFERENT like use our IMAGINATION to keep ourselves entertained. Or play games OUTSIDE WITH OTHER KIDS to learn SOCIAL SKILLS, not learn how to solve a problem like they do on games. Kids minds are so warped from all this crap its hard for them to understand REALALITY FORM A GAME. He must have had a problem with his MOM she was the first? thats pretty bad I didnt agree with everything that my Parents didnt let me do BUT IT NEVER ENTERED MY MIND TO WASTE THEM, KIDS ARE A PRODUCT OF OUR SOCITEY.

You don't have to go to church or spout religion to believe in God, I talk to him almost daily and havent been to church since I left home. I have had several potentialy bad accidents in and out of the log woods that could have killed me but didn't. Also several assults in 13. 5 years of working in a large detention center with a small disability now, but I am alive and well, so I think what I do (always the right thing when no one is looking) is working.....

To each his own. If you feel comfortable with that, that's okay. I feel a spiritual uplift to be in a church and take part in all the prayers said and songs sung and to listen to the priest, minister or whoever preach the homily.

Remember Jesus did say, "Whenever two or more are gathered in my name, I am there".

Big Nasty do mean like using our imagination while playing Cowboy against Indians, USA Military (Marines, Navy,Army,Airforce) against our enemies (Japs, Germans,Russians... ). :)

Most children know games are make believe but there are a few that can not sepreate reality from make believe.

Seems to be a lot of God-fearing folks throughout this thread.

Not only were those young lives taken too early in such a grotesque manner, but those who pray, say a prayer for those first responders, (police primarily, but also the paramedics). I have been in EMS for 20 years now. I have some unseen scars from some of the events I have been part of; faces and events that visit when you least expect. It is a normal thing I guess that goes with the job, but not a pleasant one.

Those men and women who walked into that school and witnessed that, need all of our prayers. Some of them will never recover and be changed forever. Some will find a place to put that tragedy and move on. Either way they are the silent victims of that madman who destroyed so much.

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: (don't know what month)

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding,

massacre shootings in our malls, theaters and work places,

severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another,

and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,

are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the

Pledge of Allegiance?"

Orange County,FL will be putting more deputies in Grade shcools ( they had a couple checking out grade shcools each week). Most Junior highs and Highschools in FL already have an armed Resource officer in them (City Police or Deputies).

Thats very surprising coming from New Jersey a state that is largely anti gun. Thats a great idea and Im sure will put the parents and children of those schools at ease, but realistically I dont see very many schools following suit. With budgets bieng cut more and more each year, schools are already trimming the fat in areas they should not have to go without. Unless new taxes or levees are passed, most of America will never see armed guards in their schools. Kudos to the ones that can.
