Competition Is your VCR/TiVO/DVR set?

Off Roading need some help

In looking back at what has happened in the diesel performance world over the last five years, it is unbelievable how much progress has been made in so many areas(power, power delivery, drag racing, pulling, street trucks). This leaves me wondering and anticipating what will happen in the next 5-10 years, at this exponential rate on increase.

I am asking for your predictions on what will be the "next big thing" in the diesel power world. With promisses of better head flow, rapidly improving technology on the cp3 motors, and the ever-increasing streetability of big chargers lots of things are bound to happen in the next ten years.

So, what do you guys think? Feel free to give predictions on:

-tech advances?

-future ETs?

-future horsepower numbers? (street & competition motors)

-how will pulling change?

-how much longer will the p7100 be king?

-how the gasser world will react?

-new classes/divisions/associations etc?

-power delivery/power curve/ and transmissions?

I feel the next big catalyst will be when aftermarket high-flow (275-350+cfm) heads can be had at reasonable prices, and people start making tons of power with a little turbo, and outrageous power with big turbos.

I'm going to quit and just be know as another guy that did that deal back in 02'-06'... ... and probably have allot more money!

Jim

Uhh...

A Midwest Diesel shop will exceed 1500hp out of a B series engine and dominate every Diesel pick-up truck pull in the midwest and west coast.

Ooops...

That already happend. :p

well near future will be the varibale turbos aftermaket will make them hook to mech motors yeah i think highflow heads will be cheaper soon p7100 will remain at the top for some time still hp/tq will rise both factory and aftermarket curvs will flatten power will come on sooner and stay longer we will have higher rpm motors turning 6 and 7 modified and maybe 4 or 5 from the factory i think the engines will get smaller but more powerful and things are made more effecient definatly more diesels in general cars trucks all of it soon all truck applications will have the option or only option of an inline w/ twins smaller ones will be v's w/ twins thats just a few things i think will happen

I predict the Duramax's will exceed the bar the Cummins have set in HP and torque. this is aftermarket of course!

those little V8's are getting some pretty serious looking at by some big names now. it wont be long.

Jim you can't quit, you're a snowplow for others :D

It's not a joke when I say I have a wife and kids under the hood, if I had them I wouldn't have it... ... . it's about priorities. Now if someone (insert company name here) decided that they would furnish the parts then I would furnish the labor.

I can't even imagine how much street power I could make with a head that would flow 350 cfm vise the 214 it flows now.

all this time I thought you were married w/ children Jim!!!!

it makes a little more sense now, I was like "how does he do it!??!?!"

Yep I'm that rare of a person these days... ... ..... 40+, Christian, single, never married, no kids... ... still looking!

If the box of parts works, you will hear about it, if not you will hear nothing..... call it R&D. I really don't like to tear stuff apart that deep but a few changes need to be made for both you and me.

Hey, join the club Jim! So am I !! And I don't believe thats a bad thing either!!! More toys for me !!! :p (be working on my Turbo Regal this weekend... ... AGAIN)

TDR single men over 40 looking... . So thats what I have to look forward to in 3 years,if a rich widow doesn't show up to take care of me? :D

Maybe we need to hook up with a predomiantly female net club, like I dunno, SoccerMoms are us, or I love my Volvo register... .

Just hit 40, single, no kids, and I'm a heathen lol. I took some girlies to lunch the other day and I think it scared them when I kicked it on 5x5 and came off the on ramp and laid into it but... they liked it lol. I agree on the DMax prediction. For the Cummins crowd I would like some sort of mechanical, low rpm, boost device. How about a clutched blower to help get the ball rolling off idle?

Well IF I'm driving a 800hp truck at 40 I'll be happily single.....

Right now... I'm just 27 and single... . Looking.....

I'm good at breaking stuff... . especially headgaskets, streaching studs (dont know how I did it) and misc driveline parts, transmission hard parts, driveshaft, etc... ... Maybe it's a good thing to be single... .....

Then there is the problem of diesel fumes make me horny... . :-laf

Maybe this thread should be renamed: "Member's Marital Status" :-laf

What ever happened with the PDR blower motor project? Jim, was the box long and skinny or cube-like?

Jonathan

Were bad guys! 37 divorced, no kids, but I have a very large dog. Oh yeah and I'm NOT looking. :-laf

Alright so I look, but I aint buyin'!!!

Yea the folks at Church have no idea what sits in the parking lot... ... ... probably should do a 4K in O/D burnout across the lot for fun.

The current G/F has never rode in the truck and knows nothing about it, just says it's nice, I said it's fun! I'll have to indoc her on the grandpa truck this week.
