I'm bored with the performance of the truck and ready to move on to more hp. See sig below for current mods.



I am running the stock turbo and in the summer months my EGTs can get pretty high (can hit 1500 no problem). I'm pretty sure I am over fueling my current setup and need to get more air. What would you guys recommend as my next purchase or purchases? I am considering the following (not necessary all of the following but maybe some reasonable combo if necessary):



HX-40 or B1 turbo with an ATS manifold?



Cam?



Delivery valves (with new turbo)?



Any advise would be appreciated.
 
I would probably go with a bigger turbo, but damn, I'd say your already there with all those mods in your sig. Your running and HX-35 right now?? You could even look for a hybrid 35/40. B1 would do you much justice as well.
 
Thanks for the quick responses - The turbo is a definite it's just deciding which one??? Leaning to-wards a Piers HX-40 - I think you can convert this to a twin later??
 
Go for some 191 delivery valves and get an HX-40. The -40 will require a new downpipe, but that's not too hard to do. You will LOVE the combination. You might get a little lag down low, but the returns are MORE than worth it.
 
since were on the subject of more power is there anything else i can do to my sig i have a #6 plate, afe mega cannon, and 3k kit of course without killing the transmission, i got beat by a dakota rt and cant have that happen again. thanks

Assuming you are running an auto transmission - I would say that your next mod will be the "straw that broke the camels back". My stock auto started giving me problems after the install of the TST #5 kit (I knew it was going to happen but needed an excuse for a new trans).



Having said that I think your next bomb would be a set of injectors??? OR - better yet - a transmission upgrade.

Someone else please correct me if I am wrong.

YOUR next mod had best be a good solid transmission behind your engine. Otherwise you are not looking at "will my transmission hold the power of this or that", but instead you will be looking at a bill saying "damn that tore up fast". Do the transmission first, or wait to do that till you can afford it, lest you be caught with a potential need for a new transmission without the reserves to easily fix it.
 
yea a new transmission is the smart thing to do, and what i should do. Now answer me this, would it be ok to just upgrade the TC or would that have no benefit without a actual transmission. please let me know thanks for the help.
 
At the very least you need to do a Torque Converter and a good valve-body that will put out the extra pressure needed for that stronger converter. I would personally bite the bullet and go for the full smash and just get a full swap in there. But for BOMBing on a budget get the TC and VB together.
