Bummer... ... ... Blew the ole head gasket racing a BMW M3 last night. Power suddenly dropped. Pulled into the Home Depot parking lot and the coolant jug was bubbling away like a freshly opened bottle of seltzer. I knew it was on borrowed time anyway and needed to be freshened up. Just gonna have to put in a little overtime if I'm gonna get it down to the event. Now I have no reason why I shouldn't do the fuel system at the same time.

I don't mean to disappoint anyone, but the AWD racer will not be making an appearance on Saturday. We were counting on the release of a new torque convertor from BD and there have been some developments in order to perfect it. The other sideline is that my truck took up a bay in the shop for five days and that's five days that we could have been waking up the snoozing giant from its winter break. With the Muncie show coming up so soon, we're not about to risk scattering the transmission on a dyno run as a new one will take more time to build than we have between now and the race. We will be taking it up to Carlisle, PA on June 16th for the all truck nationals where someone always brings a dyno along. This year, we're gonna break that dyno.

Well this blows, I am not going to be able to make an event for the second time in a row. I lifted the front of my truck a couple weeks ago, and the allignment seemed fine afterwards, but the front end has been getting more and more squirelly every day. It cullminated a couple days ago when I was driving an a six lane divided highway (on a trip to Jersy no less) and I got the infamous mess your shorts death wobble. Now I'm petrified of potholes or anything else that might set it off, since I had all I could do to keep from losing control and smashing into the concrete dividing wall in rush hour traffic. I called all over to get into a front end shop to fix it, but I can't get it fixed before tuesday. Sorry, hopefully I'll see some of the hard core guys in Muncie the summer. Have fun... .
