My 00 would do that. The dash cowl was warped/ not molded straight ( buldged a little ) and would not let the shift lever seat in the detent unless you pushed it into the protruding bezel. Not a deal after the first time: just pushed it in whenever I put it in park.

I've spent most of my life driving a stick, I think a lot of people put too much stock in the auto!!

apperntly you dont spend 2 hours a day in traffic inching along. if you do i would supposed you have a sightly larger left leg.

how about stuck in traffic on a long uphill incline!

I've been in both situations, not fun but the nice thing about the diesel is how well it lugs doen and reduces shifting. Still have the slightly larger left leg though!

ya i've done the 2 hour comute for about 15 years i would drive the auto over the stick just for the fatigue factor alone. although spending near 50k something should be automatic

Depends on how bad the traffic is. If you can move (or at least inch along) without stopping every other second, I prefer a manual. I get tired of going gas-brake-gas-brake-etc with an automatic.
