Who makes a nicer shift knob than what comes with our manual CTD? I feel that as much as we are paying for our rigs, we should get a better shifter knob.

I have a fatknob on mine. Took it from the 01 and put it straight on the 06 with no problems. Looks like a big eight ball, solid black.

I got a billet aluminum knob from JC Whitney. It's for a Jeep but has the 10x1. 5 threads. They have them plain topped and looks great.

What about the shift knob out of the srt10 truck? Oops might have to us the one out of the viper to get reverse on the correct side. I think the truck one matches the nv5600 and you have a 56.

IMO, thats is the best know - leather and perfect size...

Just have the chase the threads a bit to make it fit on the stock threads

What's the Shifter Thread Pitch for a 2005 G-56?

Fatknob looks like the way to go! Anyone know the thread pitch on a 2005 G-56 shifter?

Quick question in regards to the shifter knob... is there a trick to getting it off? I've kinda tried by hand with no results. Haven't tried too hard in case I bugger it up.

I'm not sure what truck you have but most of the knobs require prying out the black shift pattern plastic piece with a small screwdriver. Under there you will find a nut 14mm, or 15mm not sure remove it then unscrew the knob. . Hope this helps... Welcome to tdr and make sure you write your info in your sig... . Wes

10x1. 5 threads on the G56 knob in the 2006 models with the solid shifter. If yours is solid that is what it should be too.

Howdy CDonaldson,

Thanks . . . I've been turning wrenches 30+ years and I still can't get used to this metric stuff!

Thread Size for "Hollow" G-56 Shifter???

Is a G-56 shifter on a 2005 (May '05 production) hollow or solid. If its hollow, what is the thread size and pitch?

Gotta get me one of those FatKnobs, that wimpy OEM knob and its rotating shift pattern insert doesn't butter the biscuit!

15mm nut under the plastic gearshift pattern, and i believe all the nv transmissions dodge used, and the new g56 all have the m10x1. 5 thread & pitch
