1996 travel trailer - advice please

About 5 yrs. ago I got some tiny chain and put a wire hook on one end. I hook it on the step at the bottom of the kingpin to do the same thing. I store it in the pinbox. Craig

I'm soooo good I can just judge by eye;) :rolleyes: . Actually I use a string with a magnet on the end that I can attach to the pin box, but this is much nicer:cool: .

Looks good. I mark where the bubble is on the level on my camper before I unhook, when it is time to hook up again I adjust the height until the bubble is back on the mark then hook up.

level????

another way, is one of those square type levels you use for your fridg. put a magnet in it and place it on the frame, or where it will stick, and when you are high enough, level the bubble. just raise it back to the leveled bubble when ready to hook up and walla--- remove it when your done so you don't lose it. you can use this idea whither any type of hitch.

just my penny's worth.

I bought a neat little level at camping world. When you raise the trailer enough to unhook, just center a little plastic slide over the bubble. When you go to hook up, center the bubble on the slide and back up to her. I put the thing right by the landing gear switch. Works great and it is always there and dead on even on uneven ground.

level????

balvert;

that one is probely better suggestion than mine . did'nt know one was avalible with a slide on it. just mount it high enough so the kids can't reach it.

I think they run around six bucks and is one of the best BOMBS that I have done to my trailer. :D :D :D Certainly the cheapest.

Klenger's idea is really good and about as cost effective as it gets. I used a string with a weight on it for a while until I found this. Just a lot handier since you have to have a level anyway.

Cool. I didn't know there was one with a slide on it. Mine is just like that one minus the slide and I have to use alcohol to remove the marker when I am done. I will replace it with the slide level.
