Someone Stole My Dually !!!!!!

PeTA

There was a horrific fire in a nightclub in my area last night as I am sure you have all heard by now. The band Great White had just gone on stage when some pyrotechnic's started a fire. As of now there are 95 people dead and twice that many injured.

I am a career firefighter and the job has taught me to always be aware of your surroundings and where the nearest exit is should I need to get out of somwhere in a hurry. I hope this tradgedy will alert others that when they are in an unfamiliar place to take 30 seconds to find fire exits should something happen.

I know there was a stampead to get out the club and my above statement would not have saved everyone last night. But, it is good advice none the less.

The terrorists don't need to mass murder Americans. We seem to be doing a good job of it all on our own.

The club in Chicago and now this one?

A BIG second to what rosco said!

I am also a career FF and a few weeks back we went to a concert, loads of drunk people to help cause problems if there was a problem. But I told the boss lady if there is a problem 'that is the exit we are going out' and pointed to it, then I pointed at our second choice exit. At the end of the concert everyone was heading out the door they came in, we went out the other exit and bypassed a few hundred people, that were still jammed at the main exit.

People are creatures of habit, since they came in one way that is the way they go out.

Whenever you go to a theater, concert hall, bar, restaurant, whatever look around, find the exits it is a good habit to get into.

News

According to the news, one of the band was killed in the fire?

The videos showed people just standing around thinking the walls on fire were part of the show! From other sources the band had set off pyro in other clubs and got in trouble for it.

Sad day.

ah the news

Other reports also said the band had made requests at other venues and had been turned down and had not used they're pyrotechnics. Weather they had permission or not, the facility didn't have permits for pyrotechnics, that according to the fire chief. Either way, one would think the pyrotechnician would have known better to launch 20' sparks in a 10' ceiling. At least one would think he'd been standing by monitoring the show and with an extinguisher in hand or at least near by. What a terrible tragedy. My sympathy to those who lost friends and family.

As there has been a lot of discussion lately about sound proofing materials, what was the material they were using. You can see a big burning blob of it drip down in the video. It reminds me of burning polypropylene.

In Pennsylvania, we are not even allowed to have fireworks OUTSIDE, and these nimrods lit them inside?

They will pass legislation for this!!!

Do they have Darwin awards for killing other people?:(
