I've seen them just about every day for the last week......still running. I'm pretty sure they are keeping the truck inside the nissan dealership at night because there isn't any frost or ice accumulation on the truck...........that's kinda cheating old man winter as far as cold weather testing goes. It's amazing what a good cold soak to -50 will test!

This latest batch of guys driving the truck don't seem to be very A. Friendly or B. Overly intelligent. All of a sudden they are hush hush about the truck. I still see it running around town every day though.

My friend bought a 1995 E-350 Powerstroke non-intercooled 7.3. His 1st trip to 0* Mammoth ended up with two no starts. The tow truck driver said the secret on his 7.3 was to always plug it in and to cycle the glowplugs five times. The 5x cycling yielded dead batteries. The 2nd time he got towed down to Bishop,where it was plugged in and started pretty well in the morning.

5 seems a bit excessive, but I know several people that would do 2x on the early powerstrokes in sub zero temps. They generally started.

I am planning to buy one of the small lithium battery jump start packs this spring. I've never had a battery issue, but they are cheap and small enough that it's worth it as far back in the woods as we go.

They are probably pissy because their Perrier Water keeps freezing.......

They are keeping them really close to town and pretty much running the same routes daily. They need to give them a sat phone and a 200 gallon fuel tank in th bed and have them drive between Deadhorse and Homer. That'd show any problems that might show up.
