Nitrous questions

A few questions for somebody with DIESEL nitrous expierience. I have installed and used Nitrous Oxide on lots of gas cars. But never on a diesel. I know it can be done, i just want to know any people who have it what there thoughts are.

Did it work well?, any problems? any regrets. How did you install it?, nozzle location, etc, I just want it for an extra boost for lane changing power or to play with. I would only be using it while at full throttle on the highway, not for doing burnouts or anything like that. Since i have the auto, i dont want to start changing injectors and all that other fun stuff. Just a simple mild power producing nitrous setup is all i am after. Any help would be appreciated.

Better Off With LPG

EMD, I can tell you a bunch of stuff about Nos and it does work fine but... Have you considered a propane system? For horsepower it would be cheaper to opperate over the long haul.

If your really serious I could help you with either. But the cost of Nos is over $4. 00 per pound where LPG is closer to $2. 00 per gallon/4. 25 pounds or roughly $. 50 per pound. Maybe you can see where I'm going with this. My propane tanks will last a couple months where the Nos tank would surely go flat in less then half the time.

I wouldn't hesitate ordering from him. I have only purchased one thing from him but would do it again if I had to. Fun to talk to as well.

as i understand how the nitrous works on a diesel is you need unburned fuel in order for it to help is this correct? if he has stock injectors and no fueling box the nitrous would do nothing really. i saw even with all of your over fueling you only gained 60rwhp or so. i agree he would be alot better off with propane.

Fun Topic

EMD, I'll be around if you want to chat. I'm on the phone a lot though so... . keep trying.

Cumminsstrkn, Nos is like a turbo with 0 lag. Instant boost in effect. Imagine your engine operating at 2700 rpm when you let the clutch out:) Instant POWWA! More fuel makes Nos more effective no doubt, I agree. That would be how you would get the most benefit.

Part of the effect of Nos is from the condensing of the air entering the engine. Instant intercooler you might say.

You are correct that at peak engine rpm I get 60 hp. But that is with a rather small orifice. I could double the orifice size no problem. Fact is that the real gains are at lower rpms and we don't always rate power except for peat values.

Some of us would sell our grandma for 60 horseys!:)
