Nitto Terra Grapplers?

Looking at buying a set of the Terra Grapplers in 305/70/16 for my truck. What's your thoughts on these tires, who are running these? I seen they are load range E for this tire size. I probably do some towing, nothing real heavy, just another truck. How are they for towing? Thanks for any help.

I talked to a dealer who sells them and the guy told me to stay away from them. He said they don't wear well or last long. I took his advise and I'm still looking for good tires.

I've got 305s but in 16 in. They were a little soft at first. But I got used to it. Mine seem to be wearing fine. Have about 5k mi. on them. Rotated once. They are definitely quieter than my 285 BFG AT I had. We'll see if they last as long. Towed a 3k lb trailer and my girlfriend's grand cherokee with no problems. I like them so far. Will buy them again if they last as long as my BFGs.

I have been happy with mine (285/75/16). Happy enough that I bought another set. I agree they do not wear as long as some others but they also don't have the price tag of some of the others either.

I have had a set of them for several yrs,305/55/20's I love em,just keep them rotated every 3 or 4 thousand miles,so they wear good.

does anyone have any experience with the 285/70/17 E rated nitto terra grappler. i have heard good and bad this about these. if you have, what air pressure did you run? also what kind of driving conditions did they endure? towing, off roading, highway, racing?

yes , look good but are alot louder than bfg m/t 's and i have got alot more miles out of my bfg m/t too ...

I have 285/60/18 on the 03. Got 47k out of first set, and have about 23k on the second set. Running 40psi unloaded and 50psi loaded.

My buddy was looking at buying a set. On the site he was on, they had the 305s and 315s for around $180. I thought that was a darn good deal considering the BFGs in the same sized are $220-230

I have 305 70 16 on my son's 97 F350 and we have had no problems. They have about 10,000 on them now. I have a guy at work that that got 60,000 out of the 295 75 16 Terra Grabbers on his 02 Dodge. He is now on his second set.

When I was looking at them I thought I seen that they are bias tires and not radials. Is that right?

I am on my 2nd set of the Nitto 295/75/16s. I don't feel they wear all that well, but the price and the ride make up for it to me. Low milage could be the gravel roads and way I drive. Very smooth ride and balanced out with little weight. The first set I actually ran until the rubber was starting to peel off the steel cord. Can't complain about that for durability.

FWIW - I've had mine (see sig) for well over a year and 15k miles, w/dyna beads they still are quiet, smooth and have good charactaristics. The wear is marginal and I'll probably get another 30 out of them at least. They are one of the least expensive and only 305 in the price range that are truly an E range. I'd buy them again - oh and the spare did fit in the stock location - it's close to the 4" tailpipe though about 1/2" away

Just got the 305/70/16 E a few days ago for a good price and I've been carrying my 2000# camper around just fine. Seems more stable than the old 285/75/16D BFGs but nothing dramatic. One of the BFGs came apart which made me decide to go ahead and switch. I think they look good but we'll see how they wear.

i heard same from guys that sold BF Goodrich... but when I talked to anyone else they said the Nitto TG AT was the best tire out there now and beat the BFG in everything. They said most important thing was a good balance job..... and rotate them every 3-4 thousand miles.



I have done as they said and love the tires... . Quiet on highway... . good ride... . no flex in sidewalls detected... . good traction in sand, light mud, rain, etc... .



If you go on TireWarehouse and other tire sellers that have a rating system... . I think Discount Tires does have a huge one... . most have the Nitto and Toyo higher than BFGs...



Had mine for 6 months and love them... . I run 55 in front and 65 in rear..... and they are rated for over 3000lbs each... which even though not E rated gives them the same load rating as an E rated tire.



I got 5 tires for $840 and then paid $100 to have them all five mounted, high speed balanced, etc... ..... so still cheaper than BFG and after 20 years of BFG and Bridgestone Duelers... . I like the Terra Grapplers best so far.
