All the threads on the Nitto tires are on the Products Forum, do a search for "Grappler" and you'll find them.

I have the Nittos in LT295/75/R16. I have only put 1800 miles on them but here are my observations so far. The have a minor amount of road noise, nothing to worry about, you can barely hear them at highway speeds. They ride real well and the truck handles much better since I put them on. They seem to have a very stiff sidewall, should be just the ticket for our trucks. I have no mud or snow traction experience with them yet but I sure like the look of the tread.

I just put on a set of 265-75-16 terra grappler's so far im very impressed . Quiet , smooth ride I dont hear any road noise with these vs. stock michelin a/s , and best of all the off road traction is excellent. The truck would easily get stuck in mud or even wet grass before ,(2 WD) not really an issue with these tires , I would highly recommend them , two or four wheel drive.

I was thinking 305's as I have the Tough country leveling kit. A little road noise won't bother me. My current all terain TA's are disappointing off road, and I'm assuming their snow performance won't be much better.

Any one got any snow experience w/ Grapplers?

I installed the Nitto 305 70R 16 on my truck a month ago. Looks nice, rides good, no noticable road noise. Good size tire for the 4x4 trucks.

Nitto 325/60R18

I have put about 15000 miles on my Grappler's and I have had no problems. Tread wear is good (Even with my driving) and I have put about 4000 of those miles towing a 12000 lbs 5th wheel trailer. I was running BFG's (295/75R16s) before and I like the BFGs a little better off road. They seem to have a better bite. Other wise the Nitto's are doing good and seem to holding up well.

I'm going to try the 295/75/16 eventually (oncce I recover from my transmission overhaul)... ... prolly October or November.

First problem encountered with Nitto's

I just found this thread... ..... I started a similar thread here in April. I'll post this observation/question here as well.

I ran into a wierd difficulty with my Nitto tires. I've put off having my front end aligned too long (7000 miles). I went to a local Big O tires shop to have them do an alignment today. They called me back a few hours later to tell me they can't do it. They're alignment tools would not fit in the bead of the Nitto tire because there is too much extra rubber there to protect the rim. He tried airing down the tires (like they do with BFG's) and he still couldn't get it to fit.

I'm going to try a couple different shops to see if maybe one of them has a better setup for aligning tires with rim protection built into the tire.

Anyone have any advice? Anyone else encountered this problem?

By the way... ... since I haven't posted to this thread I'll ad my 2 cents on the Nitto tires. Overall I'm very happy with mine. So far I think I'm the only person with 18" wheels on a RAM... ... we'll I'm sure someone somewhere also has them..... but anyway. I love the look of the 18" as well as the performance. I don't do much off-road, so 18" is OK for me. I've had them off road in Moab and they did great on a medium difficulty trail that was kind of rocky. They are awesome around corners because they don't flex a bit and stick to the road like a sports car. Rain performance I think is OK, but I had a weird experience with my rear end loosing traction very easy which I hope was just oil on the road. I live in Utah and winter is comming soon, so I'll give a snow report on them as soon as it snows. Maybe while I'm in Colorado this weekend it'll snow.

I have pictures and comments on my website if you're interested.

I have the Toyo 2657516 10 ply, on for approx 14000 miles. They are very similar to the Nittos (made by Toyo).

They work very well in packed snow and ice, especially compared to the lousy, overrated, overpriced Michelins!!!!

Blampright,

I was checking out your website earlier, and I like those fender flares. What brand and model are they?

They look good man!

blampright

blampright, try locating a tire dealer that does commercial vehicles, such as ambulances, utility trucks, buses, etc. and have them do a frontend alignment on your truck. They are set up better than your typical automotive tire shop.

I see someone else has 18" now (read back up a few posts) :)

curatchko:

They're Xenon fender flares. They're the best you can buy in my opinion! They're made of this super durable rubber type material that looks almost indestructable. Much better than fiberglass because they are plyable so they won't crack if hit by something. I can't decide if I like them black or if I should paint them to match. I'm 50/50 on it... ... ... . so I guess I'll save my money and keep them black.

Thanks for the advice Vaughn!

Just an update!

I had the Nittos put on last weekend, and they're awesome. They handle surprisingly well!!! Very little if any road noise... . honestly I can't hear any, and they look killer!!!
