Wow! Lots of diffrent stories here!



I was at my dealer today and he just took delivery of 70, not 7, i said 70 CTD's Half of which are H. O. 's.



This is not B. S. I counted them myself today.



These where all 2004 models.



I asked about the EGR spec CTD with the variable geometry turbo and the line I got from him was that the CTD is going to be dropped half-way throught the year and replaced with the mercedes-benz diesel. Now this sounds like B. S. But I did pick his brain for awhile as well as the other sales people and they where all under the same impression and they all had the same exact story.



Now I cant see DC ruining a good truck by putting less in it than is there currently.



I am not saying that mercedes-benz doesnt make a good engine. From experiance they are one of the top engine makers in the world. All I am saying is that DC wont be putting in a engine that is not on par (horsepower, Torque, reliability) with what is currently there.



I will say this much when I see it on the lot then I will state the facts but until then this is all HOT AIR to me.

AS I understand it, Dodge has another 7 years on their contract with Cummins.

yup. just dealers flapping their little sales lips to hear themselves talk. one dealer says EGR is coming now, one says January, another says mercades! :--)

Just say "right -- lets visit again when you get your first truck mfg after January 1.

as a dealer it makes me sick to see some of these yah-hoos claim to know what DC has in store for us...



They tell us what we need to know to sell what we have on the lot...



Why would they tell us that a 375 HP diesel is here in january, talk about KILLING the market till then...



So, NO, I have absolutely no info on whats in store, even after repeated attempts to harass my Zone Rep from DC (other than a really trick Hemi Durango thats in route)



But, the mercedes idea/rumor has been around for a LONG time, and has some merit to it...
