Well, after a lot of snow this weekend, I realized that my truck has no 4 wheel drive. I have a 1998. 5 Dodge 3/4 Ton Truck. It worked last winter fine. Over the summer I had front wheel axle bearings put in on both sides by my dealer. That would be the only thing that I can think of, but still I dont know if that would be the problem. Any one ever had this problem before. The truck goes into 4 wheel drive, and the light on the dash board lights up. So I guess I am going to have to take it to the dealer some time. Thanks for all the help. Nick Kingsley:confused:

Something to check

If the indicator light works, maybe one of the e-clips that hold the shift fork in position has come off. I would pull the housing off of the front axle and take a look inside. I don't know if there is room in the shift motor housing, but another possiblity is that when they replaced the wheel bearings, maybe they pulled the passenger side outer axle shaft out of the housing far enough for the shift collar to fall off of the axle and into the housing. I've never been inside mine to see if there is enough room for it to fit, but from looking at the service manual, it might be possible. I would pull the disconnect housing off and take a look.

Well guys just got my truck back from the dealer, a fork lift, is what the mechanic called it. It is in the front axle of my truck and he accussed me of pulling the truck at the fair because he has never seen one of these broke before. Thank God the warrenty covered it.
