No 48RE's in 3500 duallys??!!

Dealer just cued up this morning and tried to order a 3500 DRW 4x2 (or 4x4) HO/48RE for me, and no, DC would not accept the order. The only thing that would go through was the SRW 3500.



How about that?!



They called DC higher ups who confirmed no duallys with the 48RE.



Guess I'm not getting my truck just yet... . :{

my dad got prices from 2 dealers today on a 3500 dually with the 5 speed auto, pretty sure he said about $300 more for the 48re than six speed.



don't know what to tell ya other than try again tomorrow? or a different dealer?

With the five-speed auto that would be the HEMI engine, 48RE is a four-speed. You sure your Dad was being quoted an HO Cummins? List on the 48RE is $984 more, so $300 more than the six-speed would be about right... . guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.

i thought the 47re was the current four speed and 48re is new five speed? anyway he stated five speed auto. salmon river motors,ID , or dave smith in kellog,ID. .

The 48RE is a 4 speed. Right now you can only order a 48RE in a 3500. Was told by DC that around the end of Jan. you should be able to get it in the 2500. Not sure about the dually but would guess that you will be able to get it also but may have to wait til the end of Jan.

47RE is a four speed slightly lower torque rating.

Heard rumors of a 79RE in the works several years down the road

Bob Martin just walked into my office. He is the Fleet Manager at Mike Brown Dodge(and also a TDR member). He just confirmed that he has on order(and they have been accepted by DC) the 48RE in 2500s, 3500s, in 2 and 4 wheel drive. He has not ordered any 3500s in the SRW.



He also just confirmed that the final drive ratio is . 69 just as the older models trans.
