2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission no 4x4

well like the title says it has no 4x4 i grab the lever and it doesn't engage it worked the night before very well in fact i was muddin and a buddies and it performed w/o a flaw but today i hosed everything down w/ the pressure washer and now it wont work obviously its the little vac motor but what i need to know is how to go about solving my problem. is it just a short from the water do i need to remove it and get the water out. temps are warm so its not like its frezzing up in there. so whats up and what do i need to do to fix it. hopefully someone will have something so i can tear into it tomorrow while i have the time

Mhanniink-hopefully it will be easier than that. Everytime I've lost 4X4 on my 95 after mud or deep snow, it has bee the vacaum hoses on the front skid plate that connect to the steel lines there. I've used a small wire tie on the fitting as they seem to have gotten loose over time.

You need to check vacuum first to find out what is the problem... in 2wd it should pull vacuum on one line and with the transfer lever in 4x4 it should pull vacuum on the other line. If it does not then you have a leak some where that you'll have to track down. If it does this fine then it's the little vacuum actuater on the front axle that's bad (some tims the diaphram in side goes bad). That part as far as I know is only available from Dodge and it's stupid expensive for what it is. You don't even get the whole thing they give you a new diaphram and you have to take you old one all apart to stick the new one it. Good luck.

well i found the problem and reconected it if it happens again ill fasten it more securely but at the time i didnt feel like opening the shop to do it so we'll see how it lasts thanks for the info
