Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) No 5th Gear

Well my 5th gear nut backed of again for the 4th time... This time I'll fix it myself . . so my question is . . is there a thread on how to do this?? Cant remember which place to separate it all to get to it... . ,do you leave the extension on and the support brace ... or support the trans with a floor jack and go to the rear of the trans... . It is a 5 (or was) speed 4x4 94 reg cab truck... thanks... .

You throw a jack under the trany, drop the t-case and cross member and then pop the tail housing off and you are there. If it has come off 4 times already I would suggest you fix it right with a fully splined main shaft and new 5th gear. As far a threads on fixing it I don't know. Just do some searches and I'm sure you will find a lot of info.
