i hear all these stories and see other trucks smokin but mine doesnt it smells like diesel, put diesel in it but no black smoke for me. #@$%! i would like to put stacks on it would that do anything? :-laf

well i know stock trucks dont smoke much but i have a buddy that can make it smoke at lower rpm and lots of throttle when hes about 3k feet or higher and he is completly stock

stock trucks will not smoke. unless you set them on fire. .

My '06 is stock except for an AFE Stage II filter, Banks Technicooler with Ram Air Intake, Banks Flow-Through Exhaust, catalytic converter removed. I get lots of black soot accumulating on the rear fender and bumper. If "stock trucks will not smoke", are these minor modification causing this? I thought black smoke was caused by unburned fuel, due to more fuel going through the engine than it can burn. I'm confused. JH

I know for sure 06 and 07 trucks smoke a little bone stock, but not the rollin-coal smoke that he probably is wanting, and its just a slight haze from the stockers. Ya gotta mod for thick black smoke (unburned fuel)
