Archived no brake lights in 97

my brother in law stopped over for mothers day. . has no brake lights. we checked the fuses. all ok. checked the brake light switch. has power in and out. no power in rear. no brake lights, no 3rd brake light. . it has to be in the cab somewhere. . seeing the 3rd brake light wires run in the roof. any help?

Is the 3rd brake light working? That is not clear from what you say here. If all the brake lights are not working then it is probably the adjustment on the brake light switch. You might check the hazard lights. If they work then the electrical connections from the multifunction switch are ok.

no 3rd brake light... turn signals and running lights all work. . will check hazzards. . the power goes thru the switch when pedal pressed

The next thing to check is the multifunction switch. If you are getting a good connection at the brake switch then there must be a bad connection in the switch or connectors.
