Brake lights don't work with brake pedal depressed, but will light up fine when I manualy activate lever on elect. brake box & turn signals always work fine. I unhooked elect box and still no lights with pedal depressed. I checked brake light switch & no power at any of the six wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank's in advance.

Still No Brake Lights

Can Anyone Help with this? Checked for power at 6 pin brake light switch (above pedal) none, I can't find a fuse for this. If I put 12v to the closest wire to the pedal, pink & blue, the lights work, via through the white&brown. I hate to splice power there, not knowing what caused this problem. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

What year truck do you have? Do you have a service manual? If so, it has the instructions on how to adjust the switch. Sometimes it gets out of adjustment a little and the lights don't work. Easy to adjust, but complicated to describe how to do it.

Thanks Joe, I held the pedal down and manualy triggered the switch and nothing. I have no power comming to the switch. From what I can figure the pink & blue is power in & white & brown is to the lights. I was wondering about the other four wires and assumed theyfor cruse and or something. took it for a ride and cruse works fine, (Disengages with pedal depressed). I know there is no power to the switch. What could be causing that Any Ideas? Thanks, Bill

Still need to know what year your truck is. If it is a '95 like mine the my wireing diagram works. If it's a '94 or '96 it will probably help. Later models I don't know because the wiring changed quite a bit. From what I understand the lighting system changed from switched power to switched ground somewhere along the line.
