I just replaced the seal and orings on my leaking vaccum pump, just put it back together and now i have hardly any brakes and the steering is hard also,I have no leaks and when i take the hose off the vaccum pump its pulling a vaccum. Any suggestions. Thanks Jason

It needs to be bled. Jack up the front end with the wheels off the ground. Key on engine off turn the wheel all the way to the left, add PS FLIUD (not ATF, they don't use ATF until the third gen).

Turn the wheel lock to lock slowly thirty times. Check fluid add as necessary. Turn some more. Lower truck and start and see if normal steering effort is noted. A new pump is bled in the same fashion. . assure that the return low pressure lines are back on the correct port on the ps reservior (sp).

Good luck

Andy
