I live in the Sacramento area and would like to add some upgrades to my 1996 Cummins. (more power, stuff like that) Anybody know of any good performance shops or experts in the Northern California area?;)

Hello Kaylabee,

As much as I respect the boys at Cummins West, I don't think Cummins is going to turn your pump up for you. You need a pump kit to get started. Then maybe a set of injectors. Call me tomarrow at 650 726-6999. I'm in the bay area although we do work up and down the valley. I just got off the phone with a fellow in Elk Grove.

Or I can help, depends on what you want. I'm sure I can get above your trannies ability to handle the power. :)

email me.

Kaylabee, Welcome to the TDR. I live up near Placerville. There are tons of TDR members in Sacto/Bay area/Central Valley/foothills areas.

The two guys that have already replied (HVAC & My 6 Eats V8's) are both excellent sources for knowledge and power upgrades. As you get more familiar with the TDR, you will find they are among the very most extensively BOMBed trucks on earth, and so are very valuable resources for all of us. Either of them can get you all you could ever want or need for your mighty Cummins, so you're lucky that you live close to both of them. And they are both great guys. I've been lucky enough to meet and talk with them both.

Its nice to know that there are some cummins experts in my area. Searching through the threads it seemed like most people were getting their truck upgrades from out of state.

Thanks a lot ;) ;) ;)

Kaylabee, I had forgotten, but one of the Saturdays in mid-September down near Lodi (Clements) is a truck pull, and some of our boys usually pull. Csutton7 (Chris Sutton) has been king of the West Coast pulls of late, and My 6 Eats V8's (Adam Sprague) has been a champion puller in his class for quite awhile. Both of these may [or may not] make it to this pull. Even if none of our boys pull, several of us usually show up for moral support and to brag about our Cummins' :D

Keep watching the Local and Regional Events Forum here for info on pulls in our area. When I get to work tomorrow and can look at my calendar, I will try to remember to post the specific date for this pull.

These types of get togethers are also a great place and time to check out other BOMBed trucks and ask the opinions of the owners, get ideas, etc. .

Tom

[edit] Ok, the Clements pull is Saturday September 22nd, the Red Bluff pull is Friday September 28th I believe.

Now I feel like a complete a$$: I completely forgot Bpine [Blair Pine] in San Jose. He is also one of the best technical guys around. And he is the one responsible for my new South Bend Clutch and all... ... ... ... sorry to leave you out Blair :( [/edit]
