I was curious if anybody has had problems with no cat and passing emissions. I'm looking at removing the cat and going with a flowthrough muffler. Also, has anyone noticed a difference with the exhaust exiting before the axle instead of after? I was curious if the extra bends to get around the axle made any difference.

No emissions tests here, but with the exhaust exiting before the axle, you will not be able to keep your wheel clean (may or may not be important to you). :{

At my last emissions test I watched to see if they looked for the cat and they didn't. I did ask in the office if they do and the spud in there said they do. I have a gutted cat so it looks like it is there. ;)

They inspect for a Cat in Colo. They also strap your truck to a chassis dyno and run it WFO at 60mph then turn up the load till it pulls the motor down to 40mph. All the while measuring opacity. Kinda brutal. But you do get HP & Torque numbers every year. I've heard not all insp. station give you the stats. But the only one in Colo Spgs does. Also heard rumour that they are going to kill the yearly inspections in two years and go to roadside tests.

Here, the gal never looked for the cat. I was told to push it to the floor and release, 3 times. I believe people have referred to this as the snap idle test. Kinda scary since you dont hardly have to move the pedal to get it to hit redline, in neutral. Even with the valet switch engaged. Cant imagine actually having the pedal hit the floor in neutral. Hmmm... I wonder if we can get Piers to build a 4k gov spring kit that adjustable from within the cab. Anyways I drove and she didnt, so I pushed it about 1/4 throttle until the tach reached redline. 3 Times. Passed.
