2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission No cruise control??

Coming home from the central valley this weekend I tried to engage my cruise and it would not set? Cruise light came on but it would not engage! I had my e-brake on and thought that might be the reason. Checked it today with e-brake off and still no dice!

Leaving for Disneyland in the morning and may want to use it on the way down.

Any ideas??

Mine quit working and after I started running things down I saw that I had disconnected a vacuum line that runs from the firewall to the cruise unit on the drivers side. Hooked it back and everything was good to go. I hope you have the same luck.

No Luck!

Just checked and the vacuum lines seem to be in order. . nothing disconnected that I can see.

Couldn't of got that lucky.

On my truck there is a woven cover over the vacuum lines so it looked ok when I looked at it. When I got to pulling around down there I found a hole in one side of the vacuum tube.



The other thing to check is the brake light switch adjustment. Also check to see that the cable is still on the throttle linkage.

there has also been problems with servo which is located under left hand battery box . something disconnected ,hose worn through, or battery acid eaten a hole in servo. i didnt have any of these problems, but did have bad servo that had same symtoms you have. there are tests in manual for this. hope this helps. Oo.

Just seems strange to quit all of a sudden, haven't been messing around in the engine compartment and I know my batteries aren't leaking

Got to be a fix for it, if I can't find it I know someone who can

Thanks to all of your suggestions I found the problem... The 1/8" vacuum hose going into the top of the servo had pulled out of the fitting on the servo, I'm sure I did this when I last changed my fuel filter as I was moving some hoses and wires out of the way to get at the filter.

When I checked it before it was dark and I did not see the end of the tubing up under the battery tray.

Took it for a test drive and all systems are go!

One easy way to tell if it is vacuum line, you will only get air blowing out of the defroster.
