I was driving back from Montana last week and stopped at Dave Smith's to look at what they had in stock. I noticed that many of the 2001's didn't have a rear plastic fender liner - looked like a GMC in that you could look all the way forward. Has some bean-counter eliminated this also?

2WD models don't have them; they are only for the 4WD models. If this was a 4WD they might be getting cheap. I do have the liners on mine.

I hope they don't eliminate the rear liners from 4x4s. Sure beats GM's NOTHING and Ford's SILLY FLAPS. I spray 'em off, hit 'em with a little Armor All and they look great. My neighbor asked me how I managed to get my wheel wells so shiny (first step is ditch the import and get a Ram!). They definitely enhance the truck.

I have 2002 4x4 and mine does not have them. Looks like another deletion by DC. However I'm going to the dealer to see if I can order them and then have them installed.

liners

You can add the 4x4 liners to the 2wd trucks easily. I added them to my 99 2wd. in a few minutes (after removing the wheels of course). I am sure there are several sources for these liners, but they are not expensive, even from the dealer & they sure improve the looks of your Ram!! A really cool, easy to do mod.

Seems like DC is getting a little too tight with the purse strings. First its the bed side mouldings,Ive seem some with no hood insulating pads and now no wheel wells. Next thing is they wont have a rear bumper

I was surprised when my 2WD came in without the rear liners. I have a friend that owns a body shop. He got a set for me at about $12 each. I didn't even have to remove the wheels to install them.

I just checked pricing from my local dealership for the liners.

I have a 2001 2WD SWB QC sans liners. They want $52. 00 each!

Seems a little pricey.

Anyone have a better source for them?

2001. 5 QC 2WD SWB no liners (yet)

Bad choice, D-C...

I bet the liners will be back after D-C has to warrantee their paint jobs when the paint cracks from flying rocks. Maybe they will invalidate your warranty if you drive "off-road"...

My 2001 4x4 has the liners. I don't have the bedside moldings or tailgate molding, though. IMO, the truck looks MUCH better without the moldings.
