Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No first gear/auto transmission

My transmission will not go into first gear. I always starts in second, even if I manually pull it into first. It seems to shift fine otherwise. Fluid has about 15k on it and looks and smells okay. Here's the codes I got
P1596
P1763
P1762
P1693.

MIL light is not on.

Had to replace the governor pressure sensor and gov press. regulator on my stock trans. Solved the problem. The 2 parts were ~$100 ea from the dealer, IIRC.

Have to drop the pan and valvebody. Easy job.

What bmoeller said. I replaced the complete assembly with the DC-487 valve body from SunCoast. That makes for some really tight shifts. Definitely does not slip when it goes into the next gear.
