Ok been meaning to post this for quite a while but keep forgetting.

A few weeks ago my vent to the floor quit working in my truck. If I select just the floor alone on normal or with the little defrost symbol it goes directly to defrost on the windshield. #@$%!

Regular top vents work on there desired positions, just the floor section doesn't work. Even the one with the top and bottom vents selected..... heat comes out the top vent but not the bottom.

I know normally this means that there is a loss of vaccum but I checked the hard line hose's from the pump to the T-connector on the cowl and it seems fine.

HELP! ALL suggestions welcome! My poor freezing feet would appreciate it! :{

The same thing happened to my truck last year. I took it to the shop to get it fixed because I didn't have enough time to research the problem myself. They told me that a vacuum hose behind the dash had come lose. I'm not sure which hose it was though. What you're describing is exactly what my truck was doing.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Yep, either vacuum line off or control is bad. More than likely vacuum line.

ProStock is right, either one or the other, don't forget to check the vacuum pump also.

Last time I had that to happen the vacuum line was fell out of a Y at the fire wall.

ProStock; Had a 69 Bee 383, sold it in 84. Wish I had of kept it. All I have is a tape of it running at the track and a picture. I'm Beeless.

Its not the one on the firewall, so which side is this vaccum line on inside the cab the driver's or passenger's? Maybe I can find that to check it? I don't have to rip the lower dash apart to get to it do I? :rolleyes: :confused:

Got tired of my feet freezing, and with another cold night ahead I finally crawled up under the dash tonight.

Well it was a vaccum line behind the dash.

Specifically on the drivers side behind the center section of plastic in the center of the dash.

It was a yellow vaccum line that somehow slipped off. Popped it back on and WA-LA! Heat on my feet again! Oo. :-laf
