Well I had no fourwheel drive this morning.

I can shift the transfercase no problem. But I don't think the axle is connecting at all. How to check the actuator? Is there a common place for a vacumm leaks.

Could use some help fast for this problem. Thanks

Jeff H.

What happens if you shift to 4lo? Are you getting any other vacuum problem symptoms like poor brake boost? Need to know what the symptoms are and what you have tried.

Jeff, with the truck in 4 whl. dr. , have someone watch the front drive shaft while moving driving slowly. If it's turning (a very good thing), then check to see if the two small rubber lines are connected to the vacuum motor that's located just to the right (passenger side) of the front differential.

I've had the connection at the diff. come unplugged before.

Good luck, RJR

The brakes work fine.

The 4x4 indicator does not light up.

shift in to 4x4 low does nothing also.

The connections seams good and tight on the actuator.

Can I manually check the actuator?

Found it. When I did injectors I some how got the vaccum line pinched. It was pinched between the high presser injection line mount bracket on top to the intake manifold. Works fine now.

What a miserable drive home this morning.

I believe the 4wd indicator is switched with the vacuum actuator. If it doesn't come on, or go out, when it should the actuator is probably not moving. Jeff you already figured out why.
