does it have a water seperator and filter? Does it mount on the frame or in tank do you see anything to watch out for in the future? I have read that with the upgraded system of a FASS the engine idles and runs smoother have you seen any difference or even fuel mileage gains or losses. Mileage gains or losses seem to be minimal if any from my reading. How long have you had it, would you recomend it to me? I have a 2003 2500 4x4, 6-speed. stock but unsure of future. Thanks for your help and info.

Mort I have just the pump as I feel the stock filter does a good job. This is my 3rd dodge with the diesel starting with a 91,then a 95 and now the 03. I have never felt I ever had a water in fuel problem so did not feel the fuel and water separator was needed, just another way for some one to get our money.

I can not say if the new pump helped mileage or the engine run smoother

but both did happen, of course I started using the Amalgamated fuel additive the day after the pump was installed. I have seen an increase of about 1 to 1 1/2 mph gain but that may be due to a lighter right foot. :D

There has been no loss of mileage for sure. It has been installed for about a month and I have no regrets at all. I do know I'm glad I had it installed as it would have been job for me crawling around under the truck.

The filter is mounted to a cross member of the bed and I would glad to take a photo of it and send it to you.

I would go for it if I were you.

Ray, thanks for the response. I don't believe any picture is necessary at this point, but I will keep that in mind in the future as i decide if I will install it or have it done at a shop. Once again thank you for your experience and help.
