OK thanks, I will at least lurk a lot, feels more like home here. I just wish I knew a tenth as much about my second gen as I do about lst gens. Just glancing over at that huge 3 inch 2nd gen factory service manual gives me the shakes. Someday I may even get up enough nerve to actually open it. Maybe it has cartoons.

Hey Joe! (that sounds like a song... . ?) You should put in a 3200 spring while you are right there! :D And yes, back that screw all the way out.

Don, don't be a stranger, stop back often!

Yup, no lever! :D Your KSB looks funny too. Is that the pre 91. 5 old style one?

I think I'd cut off that bracket to access the solenoid, just in case.

By the way, there is a thread up for SOP, if you are interested Joe!

No, Pete, that's not the pre-91. 5 style KSB. That is REALLY odd that you have no manual shut off, but the KSB gets in the way big time. Learn something new everyday.

I did cut off the bracket, and made a wrench that will fit the solenoid, but for anybody over 90lbs the fix starts with "remove front driver side wheel".

The camera angle might make the KSB look bigger.

I'll check back of pump.

Thanks

I found one. Not a pump, rather pictures.

The pump rebuild manual I assembled, along with another member, uses a pump with no shut-off in the top. The top is a bit different. The pump in our manual is for a VW, but the pump base assembly is the same.

I have some pictures of the assembly, but none I can post up right now. I can/will if you like. Looks like yours.

Pictures would be good, if you get a chance. I read someplace that some early Cummins 8. 3 6cta engines had a similar VE pump but don't know much (zero) about that.

Pretty sure I'll be at SOP. Maybe some thin guy like Pete Toombs can wedge up in there and take a look.

This site below had a VE pump with the shut off on the other side(B Gilbert mention that) or the image was reversed, or because it was in China and used in who knows what. Click on the image or CZ. Bosch.
THanks Joe G

Thanks for that picture. I think I can stop looking for the shutoff. At least mine is not a one of a kind. My old style KSB could make it a tight squeeze for the lever.

Still can't figure out the one in the link I posted.
