Archived No gauges

ONce again my truck has no gauges, we have tried cleaning the connections on the back of the speedo, no dice, got new cluster no dice, finally broke down and spent 700 bucks for a new compter... the one on the firewall. that worked for 3 days, now its back to the same thing. Check engine light comes on and says no bus in the odometer. I'm at my ends wit with this truck since i just recently bought it, i have only driven it 250 miles in 2 months because of this prob. BTW the truck is a 2000. Any ideas would be m,uch appreciated. :{

It sounds to me like you have ground problems.

i just posted a question about this and havent gotten any replies. mine is also a 2000, and has done it only a few times. doesnt last very long on mine. wish i had an answer for you.

Mechanic has gone over every wire in the damn truck lol and mine is a constant prob, not intermitant...

well i did a search on this b4 i posted and found info on everything i have already done, so i have no clue what to think about this at all. i'm at a loss of what can be wrong and sounds like my diesel tech is stumped by this as well. Ha worse cause senerio bypass all factory gauges and install all mechanical gauges with a gps speedo. ha i think not... . :{

you never mentioned checking for codes. cycle key 3 times ,do not start engine , leave key on after 3rd time . read codes in odometer window. let us know what you find. sorry if you have already done code check.

did anyone by chance check the central timer module? that is if your truck has one. i talked to a tech at a chrysler dealer today. with some of the stuff mine does he said the central timer module could be "locking" up. just thought i would pass this along.

well my truck has no cluster functions at all when it is very cold out. since it got cold all the lights light up, but no gauges or anything. no bus message on odometer. will try parking my truck in the shop and see if anything changes.

I Have A 2001 With 67,000 And Just Got "no Bus" And No Gauges On The Way Home Tonight. i Won A Scanner From Snap On So I Will Check For Codes. truck Seems To Run Ok.

I Got P1689 And 1693. what Is Weird Is The Next Morning All Was Well. the Only Mod. beside Gauges Is The E-z. the Night It Happened I Was Pulling A Flat Bed Trailer Empty But The Power Was All There?
