I was coming home yesterday and I'm pretty sure I killed the input shaft. I jacked the back wheel up pulled the covers off the side of trans. and put in gear and everything spins to there. I am planning on taking it out tomorrow.

Question:

1. Do they make a 1. 25 input shaft rated for more power?

2. I've seen that they make a 1. 375 upgraded shaft. Am I better off going with this?

3. If upgraded 1. 375 shaft. I have a MU 13-1. 25 Con FE clutch. Can you get away with changing the clutch disc only or do you have to do something else?

4. How much of the trans. needs disassemabled to change the input shaft?

5. What year did they fix the shaft for the fifth gear nut?

Thanks

Not that I know of but there are pleanty of 1 3/8 shafts

Yes

Call Peter at South Bend he will answer this one

Normally just the input shaft and quill but it would probably be worth while to make sure the transmission doesn't need shimming to make sure the input is set at its proper depth.

Chrysler never really did but my 2001 went 175,000 miles and Blumenthals said I was a one in a million. I am doing a total rebuild on mine as soon as the parts show up.
