No go when I Step On Gas

When I first start my truck and step on the gas it just idels and does not take the gas. In a few secounds it starts to opperate normally. What is going on. THANKS

Are you stepping on the throttle immediately after the engine fires up? Or does this happen after it's idled for several seconds?

Let it idle for a few seconds, then step on the gas. I have an 03 (different animal), but I would bet it has something to do with the emissions. There is probably an internal throttle delay to cut down on smoke at startup. Just a thought, but I could be wrong.

Why are you stepping on the throttle immediately after startup? I agree with Mike... at least wait a few seconds for cylinder temperatures to equalize before stomping on the pedal!

You need to let the oil pressure build dont hammer on the gas right away.
