No heat intermittent problem. (2001 1000 miles) Took Truck to Dealer for (warranty) repair. Was told the thermostat was not working properly. I told them that the temp gauge was running in the right ranges, and that both inlet and outlet heater hoses was hot to touch. My thought was a temp blend door was broke or a bad temp door motor. The dealer replaced the thermostat. I did not feel that this would fix the problem but went with the repair. A few days later when it was really cold I again had not heat. I moved the temp controls from ac to heat several times still no heat. After driving for a bit I heard a loud thump and I had heat. One of the doors was sticking. I didn't want them to take out the dash to get to the Temp blend doors. If not done right can lead to rattles.
The fix ( 28 years auto repair ) I sprayed silicone in the openings that I could get to and down the vents. As of this time the door has not stuck again.
I now have over 7k on it
