I got my truck back from Cummins Atlantic in Columbia Tues. nite. It was about 30 deg. out when I left and after the truck had warmed I turned the heater up only to find that it's not blowing hot air. On the low fan pos. the air is WARM, but nowhere near what it was. On high it doesn't feel warm at all. It's so little heat the extra speed of the fan makes it cool.

What do I need to look for before I make a 175 mile trip?

Check the vacuum supply hose, I think it enters the cab on the passenger side above the heater. The heater hoses should be hot any time the engine is up to temp. Sounds like the blend air door is not working. What/where did they do to the truck? That may give you a clue as to where to look. bg

I had a 53 block to crack and they installed a new short block. I guess they pretty much had to gut everything from the firewall forward. I was in hopes that it's something simply left unhooked. After the bill things are pretty thin around here.

I hear that, I'm sitting on one too. Well at least the problem is probably forward of the cab, I would start looking from the vac. pump toward the firewall. bg
