Was looking at a new 3500 srw and i noticed it didn't have any helper springs but the 3500 drw does. Was wondering whats up with this since the Ford srw has them.
That started with the 2010 trucks, I guess the bean counters got their fingers into things as they are not even an orderable option. I added a set of air bags on my 2011.
Upper overloads haven't been on the 3500SRW since 2009.
The 03-09's 3500 SRW trucks used the 2500 main leaf pack with the DRW upper overload pack. The overloads, in stock form, are pretty useless as they didn't make static contact until you where at the tire limits.
The '10+ 3500 SRW trucks use the same main pack as the DRW, but without upper overloads.
Ford's also have a V-8 diesel, but it's not needed
