I have all lights except when I try to switch on my high beams, then I have no head lights at all.

I need help from a electrical guru!

On your model year 2001 & 2002 Rams if low beams work and high beams don't, it isn't the headlight switch.

Possible causes:
  • High beam filaments blown on both bulbs (unlikely)
  • Wiring problem from both bulbs to multi-function switch (unlikely)
  • A combination of the above two problems - one side blown filament & other side wiring problem (unlikely)
  • Loose wiring at multi-function switch
  • Defective multi-function switch
I'm betting on the multi-function switch. However, the wiring can get loose due to the tilt-wheel feature and should be checked first.

I had this same problem. As pointed out, The multi function switch was the culprit. The later model years problem was the wiring where the tilt bends was pulling the wires fron the contact enough to break the connection, or breaking the wire. ON mine I pulled it apart and made sure of all the contacts were in good order and good conections. BUT you have to use the TAMPER proof Torq bits to pull it apart. They are the ones with the hole in the center. Can get them @ Napa or Sears. Maybe other places to.

any way it solved my problem.

Marv.
